God knows us. I mean He really knows us. Is there any one person you can think of who really knows you? All of you? Every detail. The good, the bad, the ugly, the worst? The minutia? The answer for all of us will be no. No matter how close we are to someone be it a friend, a significant other, spouse, parent, sibling, or otherwise, they can’t possible know our innermost being to its fullest and the reason is because really only God knows. He knows the splendor, the grandiose that He created there, the fruits of the Spirit that He alone has gifted us. And amidst all of that, He knows every trivial detail as well; every mole, every freckle, every wrinkle, every bruise, scrape or wound we’ve ever had, and He knows the location and the story from every scar. He knows every worry, every thought, every desire, every anxiety, every hope, and every fear. Does that scare you a little bit? Because I’m not gonna lie, it does for me. Does it also bring you comfort? It brings me an overwhelming sense of humility that’s for sure, but to know that “God views us through eyes of grace [so we don’t have to] be afraid of His intimate awareness” brings me peace and a joy like I’ve never known (Sarah Young “Jesus Calling). To know that the One who does know us so intimately still loves us with a jealous passion is incredible. God loves us so much that He can redeem even our darkest and weakest parts. He alone can rescue, heal, save, cleanse, forgive, refresh, renew, and redeem our wretched human existences! What a wonderful God we have! And how He stands with us through it all…every bad decision, every moment of weakness, every joy, every tear.

“No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail or abandon you.” Joshua 1:5 Praise God that He will not fail us! That He will never abandon us as long as we live here on this earth!

Grateful to be viewed through eyes of sweet grace and abundant mercy,
